Most of these recipes data back at least 100 years, updated to include modern kitchen ware such as aluminum foil, Pyrex bowls, stoves with graduated settings, etc. Although the recipes may be 100 years old, their roots generally date back many hundred years. Christmas trees, wreaths, mistletoe, gifts, garland, carols, candles, stars, and bells. These are symbols of Christmas we have known since childhood. Yet they are more than the glitter and fluff of an increasingly commercial holiday. They are direct, symbolic reminders of the true meaning and spirit of the season.
